いちばん + adjective = the most, the ～est.

いちばん usually comes right in front of the adjective.

ここから いちばん ちかい スーパーは いずみや です。
= The nearest supermarket from here is Izumiya.

にほんの でんしゃの なかで しんかんせんが いちばん はやいです。
=Among all trains in Japan, shinkansen is the fastest.

せかいじゅうで いちばん ひろい くには ロシア です。
= The most spacious country in the world is Russia.

クラスの なかで ジョンさんが いちばん まじめ です。
= In my class, John is the most studious.

かもくの なかで にほんごが いちばん すき です。
= Among all my subjects, I like Japanese the best.
