Today’s first #kanji is #同. My Kanji dictionary lists it under #口 but some dictionaries list it under #まきがまえ（冂）. There seem to be a few different theories how this character was developed.

Reading: ドウ、おな

同一（ドウイツ）: the same, identical, equal
同時（ドウジ）: the same time
同期（ドウキ）する: to be in sync, to be synchronized
同情（ドウジョウ）する: to sympathize, to feel sympathy
同僚（ドウリョウ）: a colleague, an associate, a fellow worker
異同（イドウ）: (a) difference, (a) dissimilarity
一同（イチドウ）: all (of us/them), all the persons concerned/present
会同（カイドウ）: an assembly, a gathering
合同（ゴウドウ）; (a) combination, (a) union; congruence

同（おな）じ: one and the same, the same; equivalent
