Examples

1. (わたし は)* おなか が いたい です。
   (watashi wa)* onaka ga itai desu.
   I have tummy-ache.
2. (わたし は)* め が かゆい です。
   (watashi wa)* me ga kayui desu.
   I have itchy eyes.
3. あに は め が みどり です。
   ani wa me ga midori desu.
   My older brother has green eyes.
4. あね は せい/せ が たかい です。
   ane wa sei/se ga takai desu.
   My older sister is tall (<- My older sister has high stature.)
5. はは は こえ が しずか です。
   haha wa koe ga shizuka desu.
   My mother has quiet voice.
6. あには スキーが じょうず です。(Japanese people tend not to use this structure for yourself. Also, you don’t use じょうず for somebody else’s professional skills.)
   ani wa suki- ga jouzu desu.
   My older brother is good as skiing.
7. あねは りょうりが とくい です。
   ane wa ryouri ga tokui desu.
   My older sister is confident in cooking.
8. いもうとは えいごが にがて です。
   imouto wa eigo ga nigate desu.
   My younger sister is weak in English.
9. （わたしは） えが へた です。
   (watashi wa) e ga heta desu.
   I’m not good at drawing.
   * ( ) part is often skipped.
