Japanese “business hotels” are usually located in convenient locations, but they are closer to “budget hotels” in English and they are considerably cheaper than those run by internationally acclaimed hotel chains. “Business hotels” don’t always have a restaurant for dinner, although many offer simple breakfasts. Most rooms are small with only one single bed while some rooms may have a semi-double bed, which is a bit smaller than a double bed in Australia but not too uncomfortable with 2 people in it. If you and your partner are going for that option, make sure you check the price well, as most hotels have the price per person per night.
