HSC Continuers’ Grammar List

Here is the list of grammatical items you need to know for the NSW HSC Continuers’ course. If you click any word/phrase in blue, another page will open with relevant explanation.

1   Summary of forms of verbs and adjectives

Finite forms – plain forms

3 ～て form and verbs of giving and receiving (giving/receiving/acknowledging a favour – watch this video for explanation)

4   ～た、～たら、～たり forms (plain past form)

5 Finite form (plain form non-past/past, affirmative/negative)

6   verb stem

7   non-past plain negative （～ない）（BASE in the following table refers to the stem of the ～ない form)

13      Words indicating extent

14 Conjunctions (follow non-final verbs)

15      Nominalisers

Nominaliser	Function/Use	Example
