As a native speaker of Japanese, I did not know thatてform is the first hurdle learners of Japanese face.
てform can be used to link ideas （e.g. あさ起きて、シャワーをあびます）. It can also be used with other phrases to mean certain things. For instance, if it’s used with ください, that becomes a gentle request （e.g. たってください）.
I will talk about てform over and over again in this blog as it is used in a wide variety of meanings but today I will lead you to my video about how to change ますForm to てform. Hopefully this song will help you remember the rules.
