ロックバンドで労苦(ろうく)を共(とも)にした六人(ろくにん)がつくったロック装置(そうち) means a “locking device which 6 people who shared hard work together in a rock band” – again a bit stretched phrase but I think you can understand that I tried to put ロック、ろうく and ろく in one phrase. Please note that the first ロック is for “rock (music)” and the last ロック is for “lock (device).” There is no way to differentiate “r” and “l” in the Japanese writing and that is the reason why we have so much trouble hearing these 2 apart!
Please first listen to the 3 words and compare the tone and rhythm.
ロック
rock or lock
労苦(ろうく)
hard work, labour, toil
六(ろく)
six
Now hear the whole phrase.
Can you hear the tone goes up and down like:this?
ロックバンドでろうくをともにしたろくにんがつくったロックそうち
BTW, for the smoothness of the phrase, 労苦(ろうく) should be substituted with 苦労(くろう).
