Today’s first #kanji is #以, which is listed under the radical of #ひと(人). 以 is apparently a logogram and suggests the opposite of “stopping.” There is only one official reading although I will list one of unofficial readings as well.
Meaning: 以 is usually used to indicate some kind of a boundary. See the examples.
以上(イジョウ): …or more; beyond; the above; now that…; that’s all
以下(イカ): … or less; below; including…; the following
以内(イナイ): within, up to and including…
以外(イガイ): except; excluding…
以前(イゼン): ago, before, once
以後(イゴ): after this, from now on
以降(イコウ): after this, from now on
以来(イライ): since…
以(イ)心(シン)伝(デン)心(シン): telepathy, tacit understanding
