Today’s second #kanji is #外, which is listed under #ゆうべ(タ). Its つくり (the right side) looks like the katakana ト but 卜 in kanji is pronounced as うらな(い) and means “fortune telling.” Fortune telling is usually done in the morning, not in the evening, so combination of 夕 and 卜 makes it to mean “an exception” or “outside (of regularity).” There are 5 different ways of reading this kanji.
