Today’s first #kanji is #学, which is listed under the radical of 子. 学 used to be written as 學. I am glad I didn’t have to write that one when I was a child!
Meaning: to learn, to be taught
学生（ガクセイ）: a (university) student （primary school students are called 児童（ジドウ） and secondary school students are called 生徒（セイト）)
学校（ガッコウ）: a school
科学（カガク）: science
休学（キュウガク）: (a year’s/term’s) leave of absence (from school)
見学（ケンガク）: a (factory) tour, a field trip, an observation
語学（ゴガク）: {the study of a (foreign) language
私学（シガク）: a private school, a private institution of learning
通学（ツウガク）: attending school
勉学（ベンガク）: study, pursuit of knowledge
理学（リガク）: (physical) science
