Today’s #kanji is #森. Another 木 (tree) is added to the last kanji I posted about. 森 is definitely a compound ideograph.
Meaning: a forest
Reading: シン、もり
森閑(シンカン)とした: still, qiet, deserted, silent
森林(シンリン): a forest, a wood
森羅(シンラ)万象(バンショウ): Nature, all things in nature, the whole of creation
森(もり): a forest
森(もり)の精(セイ): a wood nymph,, a dryad
森(もり)の都(みやこ): a city full of trees (仙台(センダイ) is often referred to as もりの都 but in that case the kanji 杜 is used instead of 森)
鎮守(チンジュ)の森(もり): the grove of the village shrine
木(き)を見(み)て森(もり)を見(み)ず: be unable to see the wood for the trees.
