Today’s second #kanji is #生, which probably is the most difficult kanji to read, as it has 8 official readings with their variations and some customary readings. I will list only official readings here.
Meaning: to live, to bear, raw, etc.
生活(セイカツ): life, existence
人生(ジンセイ): human life, a person’s life
生魚(セイギョ): live fish, fresh fish
一生(イッショウ): a lifetime, a person’s (whole) life
生(い)きる: to live, to exist
生(い)かす: to bring … (back) to life; to keep alive; to make the most of …
生(う)まれる: to be born, to come into the world
生(う)む: to produce, to bear (For “giving birth to a baby” 産(う)む is more often used)
生(は)える: (for a plant, etc) to spring out, to sprout, to come out
生(は)やす: to grow, to cultivate
生魚(なまざかな): raw fish, uncooked fish
