This week’s #kanji is 福, which is made of its semantic element of しめすへん（礻） and phonetic element of 畐. しめすへん comes from the kanji 示 and shows association with “god.” 畐 is apparently a pot for sake. Be careful that しめすへん（礻） ころもへん（衤）.

至福（シフク）: supreme bliss
祝福（シュクフク）する: to bless, to give … one’s blessing
冥福（メイフク）: happiness in the other world, heavenly bliss
冥福を祈（いの）る: to pray for the souls of the departed
裕福（ユウフク）（な）: rich, wealthy, affluent
