Today’s Grammar Point: ～てみると/～てみたら

～てみると is a combination of 2 of the N4 grammar items, “～てみる (trying ～ing)” and “～と (every time ～),” but the combination can describe an action that we randomly do without thinking about the outcome which is expressed in the latter half of the sentence. ～てみたら is almost the same, but I think ～てみると gives the impression of surprise a bit more than ～てみたら
