Connection
[noun] は [noun] だ。
[noun] は [なadjective] だ。
[noun] は [いadjective] 。(nothing after the いadjective)
Meaning
~ is ・・・
If the sentence is in the polite form, regardless of the word after は, all sentence should end in です. However, in the plain form, です changes to だ with [noun] and [なadjective], but the sentence ends without だ if [いadjective] is used after は.
