ほる, ほうる, ホール and ボール

ホールをほる。means I dig a hole.

ボールをホールにほうる。means I throw a ball into a hole.

Today’s set of similar sounding words are:

Listen to them, paying attention to the up and down of the tone.

If you say them in sentences, you can here them like this:

If you pay attention to the change of pitch, it will become easier to tell between similar sounding words. Hope these exercises help you.

Actually, in both sentences, 穴(あな) is a better word for “hole” but that doesn’t make a listening exercise. Sorry about that!
